Review: All About Eve

Based on the 1950 film, All About Eve is an intense production about jealousy, theatre, love, friendship and ambition. Margo Channing is the best actress there is and the one everyone loves and wants to work for, she is then introduced to her biggest fan Eve. Doing what she thinks is right Margo takes in Eve who becomes her closest friend. However, over time Eve starts to find a taste for wanting the spotlight and becoming a big actress herself but where does that leave Margo? A stellar cast help tell us All About Eve, firstly we have Gillian Anderson who plays Margo Channing, Margo is the best actress and she knows it, she is shallow and very insecure but behind all that she is very vulnerable and Gillian portrays this amazingly she was incredible and we got to know the character and her thought process. Then we have the gorgeous Lily James as manipulative Eve Harrington, a very different role for Lily and she thrived within as she is very good at playing the sweet character t...

2019 Theatre Plans

As well as being a huge Disney fan I am also a massive Theatre fan particularly Musical Theatre. So I thought I'd share what my Theatre Plans are for 2019 because I really enjoy sharing and talking about the shows I have seen and are going to see.  All About Eve (Noel Coward Theatre, London) Picture credit: All About Eve Twitter The first show I am seeing this year is the play All About Eve which is playing at the Noel Coward Theatre until May. I will be completely honest and say me and my friend Amy booked this because Lily James is in and she's our favourite actress and we try and support her in everything she does but since then I have got a better grasp of what this play is about. It's all about a big star actress called Margo Channing who is being played by Gillian Anderson who's biggest fan called Eve played by Lily James comes into her life and I think all hell breaks loose from there. It's presented as a rollercoaster of a play that has a lot of jeal...

Live Action Aladdin Trailer Reaction

Disney being Disney dropped a new peek at Live Action Aladdin during the Grammys. Aladdin is my favourite Disney film and I was really apprehensive about the whole idea but the more I see the more excited I get about it. I quite like Disney Live Action films they give another dimension to the stories that we already love, Live Action Cinderella is my all time favourite. Also, I love having actual people as the characters it makes it so much easier when thinking about it and watching.  So the trailer itself is longer than the teaser we got a couple of months ago but still quite short in retrospect. Once again we start with Iago and the desert but this time at nightime to the Cave of Wonders which looks incredible. Whilst all this is going on we have the enchanting music of Arabian Nights which is amazing. We finally get a look at Jafar who has convinced Aladdin to retrieve the lamp from the Cave where we also get the full look at Aladdin and Abu who reminds me of Jack the monke...

Disney Videogames

I love gaming but I'm not what you'd call a hard core gamer at all but gaming has always been something that I have done. However, I'm very selective in the games which I play because I don't like the shooting, fighting, element of surprise games, I can't handle them they make me too nervous and panicky if I'm honest. My limit is Kingdom Hearts and with that I'm struggling to play it, it's so hard. What has inspired this blog post is in the recent year some classic games are being updated and re released such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon which I loved playing on the old Playstation 1. Also on the 29th January Kingdom Hearts 3 was released. I have a lot of Disney games for my Playstation One so I thought I'd talk about them and be a little nostalgic.  So my first Disney video game that I remember playing was on Sega Megadrive and it was a cartridge that had had a Mickey Mouse game and a Donald Duck game and you could choose which to play...

Reintroducing my Disney self

So I thought it would be a good idea to refresh and reintroduce my Disney self as I haven't done this for a long time and I found a template floating around on Instagram stories that was a lot more detailed so I thought I'd use that. It's split into movies, characters, parks and other . Movies Favourite Movie?  Aladdin, I've always this movie and everything about it the music, the characters. It is also my earliest memory of watching a Disney movie.  Least Favourite Movie?  Pinocchio, I really don't like this film I hated it as child especially when the boy turns into a donkey that's traumatising when you're younger. Also hate the Disneyland Paris ride as well that's terrifying to me. Favourite sequel?  The Lion King 2, I love this sequel it's so good, unpopular opinion I prefer the music in this film to the original Lion King. Generally I really like sequels, I used to watch them quite a lot when I was younger. My other favourite is ...

2019 goals

Just like that 2018 was over and we are into 2019, 2018 was a mixed year personally . I’ve never been a goal setter until the past year I feel like writing down what I want to do for this year at least I can look back.  Firstly let’s have a recap at my 2018 goals, first it was FOMO which is fear of missing out I feel like I’ve got so much better at this, I think because I haven’t had the headspace to think about other people it hasn’t bothered me at all what others have been doing, it’s not a competition I have my whole life to do the things I want. Next was Blog and this I haven’t stuck with I like some of the posts I have written this year but again I’ve not put the time and effort and because I’m so busy with work it’s now just an after thought. Driving this I did do something about after a long time looking I finally got a decent instructor through RED driving school in July, I have failed one test and got another coming up, I’m proud of myself because I didn’t think I’d l...

2018 highlights

I cannot believe we are nearly at the end of 2018, it's been a mixed bag of a year so here I thought I'd share the highlights of the year. Winnie the Pooh exhibition To start the year the first thing we did was go to the Winnie the Pooh exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum which is such a beautiful building. The exhibition was beautifully detailed and we loved going around it and learning and seeing the origins of Winnie the Pooh that AA Milne started. We also loved the merchandise in the shop afterwards and bought a couple of pieces. You can check out my full detailed blog post here: Winnie the Pooh Exhibition   Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire I really didn't know what to think when my friend bought us tickets for this last Christmas, it was a virtual reality Star Wars experience. We needed to help Captain Cassian Andor from Rogue One, infiltrate a base on Mustafa and retrieve some information to help the rebellion. It was so much fun, we had such a l...
