A Weekend in Ashdown Forest

Back at the beginning of October, me and Darren celebrated 8 years together so we decided to book a trip to Ashdown Forest. Ashdown Forest is the inspiration behind the Winnie the Pooh stories as we love Winnie the Pooh so much we decided we wanted to go. Our accommodation was the Hundred Acre Studio which is on Airbnb, this was a little studio area attached to a house owned by a lady called Eve and her dog Sooty right in the heart of the forest. I cannot rave enough about Eve and Sooty and the studio they were amazing. Eve is really knowledgeable about the area and so helpful but also respectful of your space considering it’s attached to her house. Also her black Labrador Sooty is amazing he’s so calm, friendly and quiet. We actually only saw her twice in the three days we were there and one of them times was when she greeted us. The studio itself is gorgeous and has everything you need for a short stay. The kitchen and bedroom are in the same room but the kitchen is so modern an...

Birthday weekend in London

On Saturday 2nd March it was my 25th birthday and to celebrate me and Darren went to London from 1st-4th staying at the Travelodge in Wembley the High Road one which is directly above Wembley Central Tube station. We’ve stayed here quite a few times it’s cheap and convenient being a above the tube station and with Bakerloo line trains into Central London quite frequently. We got there late on the Friday so not enough time to do anything. On the Saturday we woke up early and I opened all my birthday cards and got my surprise present from Darren which was tickets to see Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre. I have seen it before but it is closing in August this year and I wanted to see it again before it closed. After grabbing some breakfast in the hotel we took the tube into Central London starting with the Disney Store on Oxford Street which is one of the best stores so much stuff in there that you don’t really get in the others, I didn’t buy anything in there. We then walked d...

Barcelona Photo Diary

About a month ago me and my boyfriend went on our first holiday just the two of us to Barcelona for 4 nights. At the time we booked everything through Monarch including hotel, transfers and flights. We went Sunday to Thursday, landing Sunday night and coming back early Thursday morning. I thought I'd do a photo diary of our trip. Monday Monday morning gave us the first opportunity to see what the view was like from our hotel room which was Hotel 4 Barcelona , luckily our room had a sea view which is more than we could ask for. We were within a 10 minute walk to the beach with the closest beach being Bogatell it was lovely. Monday consisted of going on the hop on hop off tourist bus and a large part of our day was spent at the Nou Camp the home of Barcelona FC so we did the stadium tour of that and then the rest of the day was just spent exploring our surroundings. We had food by the beach for dinner which was really lovely. Tuesday The main thing was ...

Disneyland Paris Day 5 (Feb-March 2017)

Friday 3rd March- Last day This was our last day at Disney but still had an early wake up for our 7am-8am breakfast slot but instead of going straight to the park like previous days we headed back to our hotel room and packed up the last of our stuff and then went to the park where the bus was obviously busier because it was later in the morning and a little kid pushing passed me whilst I tried to put my suitcase on the bus. We went through bag check with our cases and headed round to the storage place and put them in there. We still had a while in the park as our Eurostar was at 4:52. We decided to meet up with Kelly and Alex for lunch about 1 so we had the morning to ourselves. Luckily, we still got to the park for about 9 so we went and waited at the side entrance for Frontierland like we had the previous day to get Big Thunder Mountain Fastpasses which again we were successful in getting. First ride of the day was the ride that we had consistently been on everyday of our ...

Disneyland Paris Day 4 (Feb-March 2017)

Thursday 2nd March (My Birthday) To start the day we had a reservation at CafĂ© Mickey for breakfast which was the one thing I really wanted to do this holiday and it was so worth it. It was a hot and cold buffet and the food was so lovely I think we had 3 helpings each of the food. The part that made this was the character interaction we had also because I had my birthday badge on it made the interactions even better. We met Mickey first who was great then it was Dale who was the best because Alex didn't know which chipmunk he was so that was fun because then Dale just started messing about with Alex and we all got photos and he noticed my badge as well.  Next was Chip who wasn't the best to meet because you could tell he was in a rush so he came to the table we had to take photos in pairs then he moved on. Next was Tigger who was amazing we got a group picture with him but he took time with us and wanted to sing me Happy Birthday which is cute. The last character we met ...

Disneyland Paris Day 3 (Feb-March 2017)

Wednesday 1st March This was the day that we decided that we spend it separately in our couples and that was nice to have but we did still have dinner together so the catch up was nice. Fantasyland Tea Cups Like the previous day we had breakfast early and made our way to the park ready for Extra Magic Hours. We got quite a few rides done they were Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Dumbo, Buzz and Orbitron then we had a walk around Main Street then decided to join the ridiculous queue that happens for the opening of Frontierland because everyone wants to get on Big Thunder Mountain which we decided we were going to try and get Fastpasses for. We managed to get them for 1:05 which I think was achievement considering how far back we were in queue to get into the land and then the queue for the fastpasses it was crazy but we got them. We did a bit of shopping and popped back to the hotel to drop the shopping back by this time we had killed enough time for Big Thunder Mountain. Before going o...
