My Favourite Disney Songs

I realised that as much as I talk about Disney I have never actually shared my favourites so I am going to rectify this right now. I am going to discuss my 10 favourite Disney songs in no particular order they are just 10 that I can keep listening to over and over. 1. Gaston- Live Action Beauty and the Beast I have been obsessed with the Live Action version of this song ever since it was released and I am still singing it now. First of all Josh Gad is incredible and I just love him singing this song and the acting that goes into it is fantastic. Then Luke Evans in this song is amazing, especially when he holds notes it is just another level. The two of them together in this song is the perfect match. It is different to the original and I think it's much more musical which I personally prefer and in the film it is a real showpiece I just adore it. 2. Friend Like Me- Aladdin I have loved this song forever it is a proper classic Disney song and everyone knows it. Robin W...

London Can You Wait ?

Finally the much anticipated sequel to one of my favourite books this year London Belongs to Me was finally released last Thursday in the shape of London Can You Wait? So once again here is my ramble on what I thought, avoiding spoilers. I am so glad to be back in this story and seeing how everyone is doing a year later. Let’s start with Alex, I feel she has become more confident within herself in this book, which is lovely to see. She again shows that regardless of how wonderful life seems for some people we are all human and bad things happen but things will be ok in the end. She goes through very real emotions again her anxiety is still debilitating which a lot of people experience. I love Alex even more in this book because she puts up with a lot and got through it. Onto Mark, I adore him in the first book, in this he’s the big star his career has gone mental, but he’s struggling to juggle everything and that puts a strain on his and Alex’s relationship. Also, we get to ...

Barcelona Photo Diary

About a month ago me and my boyfriend went on our first holiday just the two of us to Barcelona for 4 nights. At the time we booked everything through Monarch including hotel, transfers and flights. We went Sunday to Thursday, landing Sunday night and coming back early Thursday morning. I thought I'd do a photo diary of our trip. Monday Monday morning gave us the first opportunity to see what the view was like from our hotel room which was Hotel 4 Barcelona , luckily our room had a sea view which is more than we could ask for. We were within a 10 minute walk to the beach with the closest beach being Bogatell it was lovely. Monday consisted of going on the hop on hop off tourist bus and a large part of our day was spent at the Nou Camp the home of Barcelona FC so we did the stadium tour of that and then the rest of the day was just spent exploring our surroundings. We had food by the beach for dinner which was really lovely. Tuesday The main thing was ...

Afternoon Tea at Thomas' Burberry

About a week and a half ago me and my best friend Amy did a two-night trip to London, it’s something we do as a yearly thing going away together for a few nights. When deciding what, we wanted to do I was looking at the Thomas’ café in the Burberry store on Regent Street and saw on their menu that they did afternoon tea. I have never done afternoon tea and I think Amy had only done it once previously, so I pitched the idea to her and she agreed. Burberry is also one of my favourite brands I love their My Burberry perfumes, so to do their afternoon tea was a dream come true. We made the reservation about two weeks in advance without any problems and you tell them you want the tea when you arrive. Thomas’ café it located on the Second Floor of the Burberry store, once we went down we were greeted by a waiter so confirmed the reservation and we were then taken up some very beautifully decorated stairs to our table which was very well presented next to a big window to the left and...

Review: Miss Saigon

On Saturday 19 th August, I went and saw Miss Saigon at the Birmingham Hippodrome, this was the first time I had seen this musical. I knew nothing about the storyline apart from that it was set during the Vietnam war in the 1970s. I didn’t know what to expect from this musical and I must say it blew my mind, it is one of the best musicals I have ever seen. I’m not going to spoil the story for those who haven’t seen it and want to go see it but I am going to give a spoiler free outline. This is a love story about an American GI who was stationed in Saigon called Chris and a Vietnamese girl called Kim. Kim is forced to work in a bar in Saigon by a man dubbed The Engineer, to earn a living which is where all the American GIs go to unwind. Chris gets taken to the bar by his friend John and instantly falls for Kim. John gets Kim for Chris and they fall in love instantly and plan for Chris to take her back to America with her. However, events don’t turn out for the best and they ge...

The Addams Family

On Friday 9th of June, I went and saw The Addams Family at Birmingham Hippodrome. This has been booked for months and one of the shows I was most excited about seeing this year and it surpassed my expectations. This has a cast full of stars we have Samantha Womack as Morticia Addams, Cameron Blakely as Gomez Addams, Les Dennis as Uncle Fester and the amazing Carrie Hope Fletcher as Wednesday Addams. This musical is set when Wednesday is 18 years old and has fallen in love with a normal guy in Lucas Beineke played by Oliver Ormson and they are engaged to be married. Lucas’s parents come over to visit and have dinner with the Addams Family in which chaos ensues and the repercussions from that dinner. It ends up being a lovely love story with a strange family. I loved this musical, it was refreshing to see something completely new on stage not something that is a tour of a permanent show. The cast are incredible I was pleasantly surprised by Samantha Womack and Les Dennis they...

My love for Pirates of the Caribbean

To celebrate the release of the 5th and final Pirates of the Caribbean film coming out at the end of this month, I thought I'd do a post on why this film series will always hold a very special and sentimental piece of my heart. The first film Curse of the Black Pearl came out in 2003 and I didn't see it as I was only 9 years old at the time and was too scared of it from the trailer to see it. Cut to 3 years later to 2006, I was 12 years old and the second film Dead Man's Chest came out and I went to see it with my friends as it was one of their birthdays and I fell completely obsessively in love with this film as you do when you are 12 years old. I particularly fell in love with Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in all honesty. I ended up seeing this film 2-3 times and as me and my friends loved this film so much because also one was obsessed with Johnny Depp as well. Not long after this I watched the first one and it just reaffirmed a love I had for it. I remember on a sch...
