Afternoon Tea at Thomas' Burberry

About a week and a half ago me and my best friend Amy did a two-night trip to London, it’s something we do as a yearly thing going away together for a few nights. When deciding what, we wanted to do I was looking at the Thomas’ café in the Burberry store on Regent Street and saw on their menu that they did afternoon tea. I have never done afternoon tea and I think Amy had only done it once previously, so I pitched the idea to her and she agreed. Burberry is also one of my favourite brands I love their My Burberry perfumes, so to do their afternoon tea was a dream come true. We made the reservation about two weeks in advance without any problems and you tell them you want the tea when you arrive. Thomas’ café it located on the Second Floor of the Burberry store, once we went down we were greeted by a waiter so confirmed the reservation and we were then taken up some very beautifully decorated stairs to our table which was very well presented next to a big window to the left and...

Review: Miss Saigon

On Saturday 19 th August, I went and saw Miss Saigon at the Birmingham Hippodrome, this was the first time I had seen this musical. I knew nothing about the storyline apart from that it was set during the Vietnam war in the 1970s. I didn’t know what to expect from this musical and I must say it blew my mind, it is one of the best musicals I have ever seen. I’m not going to spoil the story for those who haven’t seen it and want to go see it but I am going to give a spoiler free outline. This is a love story about an American GI who was stationed in Saigon called Chris and a Vietnamese girl called Kim. Kim is forced to work in a bar in Saigon by a man dubbed The Engineer, to earn a living which is where all the American GIs go to unwind. Chris gets taken to the bar by his friend John and instantly falls for Kim. John gets Kim for Chris and they fall in love instantly and plan for Chris to take her back to America with her. However, events don’t turn out for the best and they ge...

The Addams Family

On Friday 9th of June, I went and saw The Addams Family at Birmingham Hippodrome. This has been booked for months and one of the shows I was most excited about seeing this year and it surpassed my expectations. This has a cast full of stars we have Samantha Womack as Morticia Addams, Cameron Blakely as Gomez Addams, Les Dennis as Uncle Fester and the amazing Carrie Hope Fletcher as Wednesday Addams. This musical is set when Wednesday is 18 years old and has fallen in love with a normal guy in Lucas Beineke played by Oliver Ormson and they are engaged to be married. Lucas’s parents come over to visit and have dinner with the Addams Family in which chaos ensues and the repercussions from that dinner. It ends up being a lovely love story with a strange family. I loved this musical, it was refreshing to see something completely new on stage not something that is a tour of a permanent show. The cast are incredible I was pleasantly surprised by Samantha Womack and Les Dennis they...

My love for Pirates of the Caribbean

To celebrate the release of the 5th and final Pirates of the Caribbean film coming out at the end of this month, I thought I'd do a post on why this film series will always hold a very special and sentimental piece of my heart. The first film Curse of the Black Pearl came out in 2003 and I didn't see it as I was only 9 years old at the time and was too scared of it from the trailer to see it. Cut to 3 years later to 2006, I was 12 years old and the second film Dead Man's Chest came out and I went to see it with my friends as it was one of their birthdays and I fell completely obsessively in love with this film as you do when you are 12 years old. I particularly fell in love with Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in all honesty. I ended up seeing this film 2-3 times and as me and my friends loved this film so much because also one was obsessed with Johnny Depp as well. Not long after this I watched the first one and it just reaffirmed a love I had for it. I remember on a sch...

Ultimate Disney Goals

I've had this list in my head for a while of things I'd love to do that are Disney orientated, kind of Disney goals or a Disney bucket list of sorts. Some of these are more achievable than others but I'd like to think eventually I can do nearly all of these things. They are in no particular order just some things I'd love to do. 1. Visit every Disney park This is very self explanatory I'd love to have visited all Disney Parks in the world. You have Disneyland California, Walt Disney World Florida, Disneyland Paris, Shanghai Disney, Hong Kong Disney and Tokyo Disney. I have so far only been to Disneyland Paris and hoping in the next couple of years to go to Walt Disney World. I think it would interesting to see how different each park is and also see how they are similar. Be a different way of seeing Disney in each park. 2. Visit Walt Disney World If I cannot achieve going to every Disney park then I at least want to go to Walt Disney World. My boyfrien...

Disney Haul

Over the past 2 months I have bought a lot of Disney merchandise and thought I'd share all of it with you. I have picked up a variety of different stuff and also I have birthday presents from my friends that were given to me as well which I will put in here as well. I will link as much as I can throughout. Tsum Tsums I love tsum tsums I have over 30 of them but I only buy the ones I'm really interested in and want to keep. I bought Hans who now completes my Frozen collection, Cogsworth and Lumiere in Clintons because they had a 3 for 2 offer on them at £3.50 each. Le Fou who 2nd one on the top row was bought out by the Disney Store to celebrate the Live Action Beauty and the Beast film so I had to have him and also picked up Gaston and Philippe to go with him which means I now only have Mrs Potts and Chip missing from that collection. At the Disney Store the tsum tsums were £3 each. My favourite has to be Cogsworth he looks the best and his detailing of the pendulum on hi...

Disneyland Paris Day 5 (Feb-March 2017)

Friday 3rd March- Last day This was our last day at Disney but still had an early wake up for our 7am-8am breakfast slot but instead of going straight to the park like previous days we headed back to our hotel room and packed up the last of our stuff and then went to the park where the bus was obviously busier because it was later in the morning and a little kid pushing passed me whilst I tried to put my suitcase on the bus. We went through bag check with our cases and headed round to the storage place and put them in there. We still had a while in the park as our Eurostar was at 4:52. We decided to meet up with Kelly and Alex for lunch about 1 so we had the morning to ourselves. Luckily, we still got to the park for about 9 so we went and waited at the side entrance for Frontierland like we had the previous day to get Big Thunder Mountain Fastpasses which again we were successful in getting. First ride of the day was the ride that we had consistently been on everyday of our ...
